Some companies seem to forget Social media is about being Social. Enjoying good talks, gain interesting insights, sharing jokes and generally have a good time. That's what we aimed for while creating Burger King Netherlands monthly social calendars: The stuff you want to share.

As the first quick service restaurant chain to offer all its burgers optionally vegetarian, Burger King went all out.

One of many ways we've reached our audiences was via a TikTok / Instagram filter that randomly decided which Veggie Burger they are.

To engage is to become part of. Implementing that thought to the use of commercially minded Social Media, what better way to increase engagement then asking our audiences to become part of BK's process? That's how the Community Burger was born.

For 10 days straight we've asked our TikTok, Instagram and Facebook audiences which layer should be added to the Community Burger. Anything that's on the menu - meal and ingredient alike - was allowed.

Results: This years' best perfoming month in terms of organic engagement and sentiment, plus interesting insights that thought us more about the nature of each platform's audience.
